Basic Eligibility for Applying
UG programmes - Any candidate who has successfully completed the Tamilnadu Higher Secondary course or CBSE/ICSE or any other equivalent courses
PG programmes - A candidate who has successfully completed 10+2+3 years of education
Research programmes - A student who has successfully completed PG degree in the related subject

Eligibility Certificate

Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras should be produced by candidates who have passed the following examinations:

  • Private candidates from the CBSE under the open school system
  • Higher secondary or equivalent examinations conducted by all other state boards
  • All degree (UG/PG) examinations conducted by universities other than the University of Madras

BA English - Any group in +2 with 60% in English HSC, CBSE, other boards
BBA (Business Administration) - Any group in +2; preference Commerce and Accountancy
B.Com Accounting & Financing - +2 (Academic or vocational) with Commerce and Accountancy; with 60%; preference to Business Maths
B.Com Corporate Secretaryship - +2 with Commerce and Accountancy; with 60%
B.Com General - +2 (Academic or vocational) with Commerce and Accountancy; with 60%; preference to Business Maths
BCA (Computer Application) - +2 (Academic or vocational); preference to General Maths
B.Sc Computer Science - +2 with Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Business Maths; preference to General Maths
B.Sc Mathematics - +2 with Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/ Biology or equivalent
B.Sc Visual Communication - 60% in HSC or equivalent; preference given to students with Art/Photography/videography portfolio
B.Sc Psychology - 60% in HSC or equivalent; preference to Pure Science
BSW (Social Work) - Any group in +2 and must have working knowledge in Tamil

PG Programmes

MA English - A Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Part II English for IV Semesters from the University of Madras or any other university accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto. B.Com / BBA / BCA graduates are not eligible.
M.Com General - The Candidate must have studied any two Commerce related papers in any Undergraduate Degree - B.Com / B.A.Corp. Sec / B.Com A&F / B.C.S / B.B.A / B.B.M / B.A (Co-Po) / B.Sc (Computer Science) / B.A. Industrial Organization / B.Sc (Maths) / B.C.A / B.Sc Statistics with any two core / main papers offered at B.Com level
MSW - A Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from the University of Madras or any other university accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto.


M.Phil Commerce - PG in any commerce subject with good academic record.
M.Phil Social Work - P.G. Degree in M.S.W

The filled-in application for all the UG/PG Programs along with the required enclosures should reach the College Office within ten days from the date of publication of the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Examination Results / University Results.

Documents to be attached along with the filled application form:
Attested photocopy of:
  • 10th mark statement
  • Qualifying examination mark statement
  • Community certificate (BC / MBC / DNC / SC/ ST)
  • Certificate of proof for Differently abled / Sports / NCC / Ex- serviceman
  • The interview card duly affixed with Rs.5/- stamp.
Submission of Application Forms:
  • IN PERSON: Application forms can be submitted at the Administrative Office.
    (Timing: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday)
  • ONLINE APPLICATION: Downloaded application form should be submitted in person / by post along with the application fee of Rs.250/- DD drawn in favour of Patrician College of Arts and Science for allotment of application number.
Submission Guidelines:

Students seeking admission to this college should conform to the rules and spiritual ambience of the Institution.

  • Read the Prospectus thoroughly before filling in the application form
  • Any request for change of programme after admission will not be entertained.
  • Guidelines for choosing Part I language (Tamil/Hindi/French)
    • The applicant has to choose either Tamil or Hindi or French.
    • It is advisable to choose the language studied already in class X/ XII.
    • Students opting for Tamil / Hindi need to have prior exposure of language at school level.
    • French is taught from the foundation level.
    • No request for change of language will be entertained after admission.
  • Community Certificate
    • The applicant must ensure that he has a proof of community that may be required to be submitted at the time of admission.
  • Marks secured in the Board (Qualifying) Examinations
    • The marks secured in the Board Examination must be filled in correctly.
    • Statement of marks downloaded from internet should be attached as proof.
  • Photograph
    • A Passport size photo of the applicant dressed in formal should be affixed in the application form.

A candidate will have to present himself/ herself along with parents for the Personal Interview with the Principal on the date mentioned without fail. The provisional selection will be automatically cancelled if the candidate fails to report for the interview on the scheduled date and time.


The following original certificates and other documents should be produced at the time of interview for verification and must be handed over at the college office once the admission is confirmed:

  • Qualifying examination mark statement or Provisional Certificate if any.
  • Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate
  • Community Certificate (BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST)
  • Certificate of proof for Differently-abled / Sports / NCC / Ex-Servicemen etc.
  • Certificate of Medical fitness issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.

The applicant and the parent/guardian are required to go through the contents stated in the application form and agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the college.

Entrance Test for PG/MPhil Programmes

The entrance test for PG and MPhil students will be conducted and the date of the test will be intimated by post / mail to candidate followed by a personal interview. Candidate should produce all the original certificates for verification at the time of interview. For M.Phil admission, 50% of the Aggregate marks in PG and 50% marks of the Entrance test marks will be taken into account for ranking and selection.

  • After admission to the college, a student is expected to complete his programme in this institution. However, if any student, on his own, desires to discontinue his studies in this institution, he should submit to the Principal an application to this effect, duly countersigned by his legal guardian. Any withdrawal from the college must always be preceded by clearance from the different units of the institution eg. the college office, library, computer laboratory, etc. A minimum of 10 working days will be required to process such applications.
  • For a withdrawal before the commencement of classes, a refund of 100% tuition fee along with 50% of other fees will be admissible.
  • For a withdrawal after the commencement of classes, no other fees except 90% of tuition fee will be refunded
  • For a withdrawal causing a permanent vacancy in a self-supportive programme, for any reason whatsoever, the guardian will be required to pay the fee due for the entire programme.
  • Generally, the refund of the fees is done after the closure of Half Yearly bank A/c. For the collection of the refund amount and the completion of withdrawal formality the personal appearance of the student along with his legal guardian is essential within one month of the above mentioned period. No request for refund will be granted after the lapse of the stipulated period.
Mode of Payment

The provisionally selected candidates are expected to pay the prescribed fees by cash / DD to Union Bank of India, St.Michael’s Academy Branch on the date and time specified in the call letter, failing which the provisional selection will be cancelled.
